Default Famous people you've met

Oh, are we going to change the terms to famous people we've seen in person? Without an actual meeting or speaking to? I'll have to do some thinking on that one. I'll get back to you this.

Default Famous people you've met

I met Dwight York back when he was playing for Aston Villa, it was at a cricket match between England and the West Indies at Edgebaston in Birmingham. What I was even doing at the cricket match I'll never know! lol!

Seen a few famous people at Stanstead airport, in the queue to go through customs, the most famous of these would have to be "The Prodigy". And you know what they say about TV not really portraying people properly, well I saw Match Of The Day presenter Jimmy Hill at Stanstead too, and to my amazement, his chin really is that huge!

Aneka Rice landed in our school field as part of "Challenge Aneka", way back in the late 80's when I was still in primary school, so she was probably the first famous person I ever met.

But I think the funniest of all had to be about 6 or 7 years ago when I was living in my old house. Me and my mum were outside the front of the house doing some menial chore (can't remember what it was). This fancy car pulls up outside and rolls down the window, my mum goes over to give the driver directions and turns to look in the passenger seat. "Hey, aren't you that guy from the tele" she asked. "That's right luv" he replyed. Jim Bowen of Bullseye fame had gotten himself lost in the middle of a residential Bury St. Edmunds, looking for the local school (in which he was commentating on a darts tournament). Bizarre!

I've met no-one. I've seen however:
  • Smashing Pumpkins Billy
  • Camp guy from 'Gimmi Gimmi Gimmi' for UK posters
  • Michael Rosen (UK children's poet)
Hmmm, not many.

I've talked with

Politians: both Senator Herb Kohl and Senator Russ Feingold of Wisconsin, Ambassador Vitaly Churkin of the former Soviet Union, Helmut Kohl (former head of Germany)

Now, for the actors: James Doohan ("Scotty" from the original Star Trek series), Lou Ferrigno (The Incredible Hulk), Anthony Daniels ("C3PO from Star Wars), Warwick Davis (several movies), Walter Koenig (several shows), Mark Hamill (*shrug*) plus a few other people I met while volunteering at Gen Con when it was in Milwaukee.
