There needs to be practical aplication to what they teach. Some kids its easy to tell from quite early on what they will end up doing in life others don't have a clue.
when i was at school i didn't know what i wanted to do for the rest of my life. i chose subjects to do with engineering and followed it on in collage. but once i got in to doing it day in and day out i hated it. i know now that i want to work with animals and i'm going for it full tilt.
I really think rather than a weeks work experiance (in the UK) they should do a 'Real world' week, where not only do the kids have to go to work but they would need to do alot more, like budgeting that weeks wage to cover rent and bills ect... (thereticaly)
I'm being mean as i don't have to go to school anymore
