Default Wine lovers

I am curious to hear what everyone's favorite wines are. Years ago I thought white ones are the best. Meanwhile I changed for red ones, especially those from France: Cahors, Languedoc-Roussillon, Saint Chinian, beaujolais, Pays d'oc, etc.

From time to time I try those from Californie, Spain, Argentine and less from other countries

I found a Cabernet Sauvignon Clos du Bois sonoma Californie 2006 excellent.

Anyone else like wines ?

I thank my late Dad for introducing me to the love of wine. I actually rate wine to be better value than that of Champagne, but that's a personal thing. Price for price, a bottle of estate bottled a Grand Cru Clos de Vougeot 2007 has deeper satisfaction than a similarly-priced bottle of Krug Brut.

My recent purchase were 12 bottles of Vina del Portillo Senoria de Sarria Reserva 2002 from the Navarra region, was one of my best buys.

I love dessert "pudding" wines, and these are probs best drank in the winter months at around Christmas time. My travels take me past vineyards, even down in the Languedoc-Roussillon district, and all it takes is a visit to a proprietor for a wine tasting. For this is a wonderfully opportunist way of getting to taste wines before one buys them.

If you are serious about drinking wine and keeping a few bottles stored at home, I recommend a good wine merchant. Like Berry Bros & Rudd. Visit one of their tasting sessions, and go from there.

One of my dreams is to visit several vineyards in France. I need for that more weeks vacation and increase my income a bit. If my boss manages to increse my salary this year as she has promised, I would like to start with Cahors region.

I tested several bottles on my family and I kow for sure what kind of wines we all prefer. I started a repertoir of wines for myself and whenever I need to buy another bottle, I check my notes first.

Next step is to buy a nice cellar where to keep my bottles.
