serious hiking gear? Regatta any good?

Need some serious hill-walking advise! I’m starting getting back into it after a brief interlude of a year or so I love it – but have had problems with all the borrowed stuff I’m using, Can anyone recommend a good brand? I’ve heard Regatta clothing is ok?

I realise this post is over 2 years old, but Regatta clothing is alright, but made to a price, which is why it's so reasonably priced.

Rohan produce state-of-the-art outdoor clothing, though it is getting on expensive. But performance fabrics always are.

Brasher boots are excellent. I have a pair. Also worth considering are walking boots made by Ecco.
