Essence
Can two objects have the same essence?
Object = physical entity
Essence = spiritual/symbolic meaning
If so, how? And what does this imply about essence, objects, and their relation to one another? Essence, by this definition, seems to be subjective and with subjectivity taken into consideration many things become possible/malleable. So, in order to begin answering whether or not essence can be replicated between two objects (empirical data) perhaps we first must figure out if there is a possibility that an object can possess a universal essence- an objective essence. Or we can simply make that assertion and run with it, separating two ideas into individual discussions/debates.
Playing with the assertion that there is a universal essence for an object:
There are different perspectives of this essence, but there is also a universal core, separate from the empirical data that is the object. Now, if these objects come to possess the same essence- lets say a rock and a car. What the essence is is irrelevant to the hypothetical discussion. Also- perhaps the idea of essence implies that there is another plain of existence intertwined with this one, though not tangible in a typical fashion, simply skirting the edges of our senses. And this leads to the idea of wondering which is dependent on which- the essence depends on the object or the object depends on the essence, OR perhaps there is a mutual dependency between them.
