Default Louvre

I will spend at least one day in Paris for Louvre. I'm sure I cannot see everything that so if anyone knows the must see sections, I'll really appreciate to hear about them.

I finally under they have build two pyraminds in front of the Louvre. There are so many lovely things to see inside that it's impossible to do it in one day.

It was really difficult to see Mona Lisa because of the people all aound it. Anyway I managed to take some shots.

I adored the appartements of Napolean III.

Any :kitty:s you encountered in/around the Louvre are from the French :kitty: delegation (speaking of which, I wonder how Raven and Leto are.)

I had the surprise to enconter one of my collegus from work inside of Louvre. She was supposed to be on a sick leave since last autumn.

I adored the Louvre when I visited Paris. We squashed a hell of a lot into a week when I went to the city (so much!) but the Louvre was definitely the thing I was most looking forward to seeing. You definitely need quite a few visits to get even an overview of everything in there. I got a bit lost and kept going around the same area over and over again, it seems; kept seeing the same paintings! I did manage to see the Mona Lisa, though, the main attraction, which is always smaller than you expect. And I also wouldn't rest (and dragged my friend along) until I found the Venus de Milo. Which I did. I was also rather taken with the statue of Nike on the stairs. Such a beautiful place full of the most interesting things. I intend to go back again. And again.

My time in Paris was without a doubt one of the best weeks of my life.

My brother in law asked at the reception for the main attractions, so he drieved us crazy as we had to follow him everywhere and we had no time to really admire the rest. I agree. You really need to return back to see everything in there.

Did you like Napoleon's appartements ?

As I say, I seemed to have got stuck in the same areas, so I don't recall seeing Napoleon's apartments (although, on another note, we did go to see his big sarcophagus at his golden-roofed tomb). I also missed out on seeing the Egyptian mummies too, I think. Need to go back; this time make sure I can navigate my way around a little better.

I had the impression that no matter when you visit it, ther willl be always a lot of people inside. They can advise you at the help desk if you want to see only the important exponents. Or if you stll have the plan of the museum, you can decide in advance which section to visit. I don't think it's possible to see everthing in one visit.

I would like to go back too but I don't know when.

What did you like in Paris ?

Definitely not. We went for a few hours and I saw only a brief overview of a few sections. I had a map, yet it seemed to be a case of missing the right stairs to go elsewhere in the building!

It was all amazing, we did and saw so much. Went to the top of the Eiffel Tower, which was amazing, to the Musee d'Orsay, Notre Dame, the Palace of Versailles...that may have been one of my favourite things, as we went for a bicycle ride all around the gardens. Which is incredibly vast, we almost got lost and would have went over the hour the bikes were hired for. Another thing I really enjoyed was that we went into a little bar near Montmartre and the Sacre Coeur, which had pieces of paper and flyers and etc all over the walls with messages from people who had visited. So we wrote one and hopefully, despite this being a few years ago, the paper is still there. Going to the top of the Arc de Triomphe was also an experience, especially as you have a very good view of the death roundabout below, which I hear you need separate insurance to go on because it's such a hazard.

I adored Versalilles, too. We took the mini train, but after the Petit Trianon, we ended by foot.

We didn't have the time to visit Musee d'Orsay. Did they have musketters inside ? I was was quite dissapointed that I didn't see them represented at Versailles or Louvre.
