Re: A game from IF that I think might be interesting
Getting ready for the pools again as well as air conditioners (80s and humid here.) Emba, Ranmaru and Asami were chased by several girls last time (they were saved by a few of the shinigami that stopped the girls dead n their tracks.) I warned the guys that they should wear yukata.
Yogi's been checking out the frozen treats the snow spirits are selling, buying a Snoopy ice cream treat ("I was curious about it!") He was grateful for the ice cream since it was a change-of-pace from circus food. I can't wait until I introduce him to my peach Melba frozen yogurt pops (although he needs just a bit of meat on his bones [not as much as Clare, but still. . .]) or the strawberries and cream frozen yogurt pops I thought I'd make as emergency cold energy.
The :kitty:s are suffering from the heat, too, since they can't take off their fur coats or sweat like their human slaves. The dogs are having a time of it, too.
Oops, gotta go. The vets want me to help them with the animals.

Re: A game from IF that I think might be interesting
Ah, time for an update on the fundraiser yesterday.
We pretty much kicked off the whole thing with the same stuff as last year (conch shell and other wind instruments followed by a rousing rendition of ELO's All Over the World. We had a little excitement we could've lived without (a little boy was complaining about feeling a little low, and he meant that he felt that he needed a quick dose of sugar [he's diabetic] and he got separated from his mother.) Yogi, in his Candy Bear mascot costume, did an emergency run for a frozen strawberry bar while several of the security team went looking for the tyke's mom. I felt sorry for her after she got a very brief lecture from Yuki (basically, the "Cliff Notes" version was "Your son nearly ended up in the Emergency Room due to the heat and low blood sugar. Keep a closer eye on him, okay?"
Yuki and the rest of his family will be interviewed today after his gig with Lucifer, along with Tao and FeiLong. Belinda's a bit nervous because she has a minor speech impediment when she gets "cornered". There're going to be a few of her "uncles" and a couple of "aunts" with them, also.
Oops, gotta go. I was just informed that my gig with some of the guys has been moved up.

Re: A game from IF that I think might be interesting
The "clan" is still out at the fundraiser, but I thought everybody might want an update on the situation there.
Wren and a few of the guys went to the lakefront for a bit of R and R, which became a rather exciting situation. A few idjits (those who do something that's not only stupid, but also dangerous) tried to do a seafood boil using five gallons of gasoline/petrol. They had a few kids with them, letting them run around without any sort of restraint.
I think you're starting to see where this is heading.
After the explosion, Wren called in a flight plan while several of the other guys mobilized a triage and arrests (boy, Hirato and Yogi were , and Mamoru kinda let his opponent know his displeasure without words.) Several of the chronological adults were impaired (either drunk or high) which annoyed the guys that much more. Five kids were transported by Wren to Children's with burns, accompanied by Nova and three doctors (none of them the pilot.) From what I understand, they used Nova as the "cover".
Anyway, the Circus ship held the offenders until they could be transported to the proper authorities (the offenders did not like the sheep, I understand.)
Ah, well. I'll update tomorrow before the end of the fundraiser.

Re: A game from IF that I think might be interesting
Sorry for the delay in the update, but we didn't end until a little after sunset (had too much fun, I guess.) Emba was a hit with quite a number of those who "swing his way", shall we say.
The doctors at Children's were grateful for our version of Flight For Life after they saw the burn injuries on Wren's passengers. They immediately took over for our doctors, grateful for whatever they used to stop the "cooking". The incident was broadcast over the radio as a PSA, keeping our involvement low key.
Yuki's interview was rebroadcast several times, too (it was rather "popular" with the audience [as in the phones rang off the hook].) Several of the "uncles" were also on "Belinda, Part II" including Albert Valentiano. A relatively recent member of the radio station tried his hand at Al's dialect (was grateful when Al suggested that they return to English since it was obvious that English was easier for Al than Italian was for the deejay.)
Anyway, they let the deejays know that we were having a relatively successful fundraiser (one of the other people in the hospital's cafeteria suggested that the female deejay and the secretary take a gander at several of the guys, but only after they were sure that their blood pressures were on the low end of the normal scale. ) Only "one" thing to say about their reactions: . The secretary said "Those guys are a good reason to go to Church! Hallelujah!" Al told her that several of them were coming up here to entertain "the troops" and she asked him to send them all up.
She got a laugh.
Ah, things are relatively quiet right now, the :kitty:s sleeping with their chosen humans. We're going to get a check cut to give the representatives of the hospital, our favorite runner, surrounded by some of the security people, presenting it to them Tuesday or Wednesday since the banks are closed Monday.
Gotta go. Cuteness alert.

Re: A game from IF that I think might be interesting
Belated happy Memorial Day for the American IO delegation.
We had a ceremony for our veterans. Seya and Tsukishima started crying, remembering brothers-in-arms who didn't make it. We left them to their tears, most of us feeling that they really needed them. Tonight they're getting :kitty: therapy and Seya's going to see his therapist Wednesday to discuss today, I guess.
Asami was with one of my annoying neighbors who wanted to "borrow" some of the Children's Miracle Network funds for something the donations weren't meant for. He had "fun" with the guy (with help from the Kuba brothers, Kanou, Suoh and Kei.) Let's just say it wasn't pretty and leave it at that, okay? Anyway, the security detail's going to be doubled.
Well, I thought you guys might want a short update. An irate :kitty:'s waiting for me.

Re: A game from IF that I think might be interesting
$198,000! *thud*
The snow spirits are back in Antarctica, enjoying the cold temperatures, while the rest of us "sorta-sane" humanoids are coping with the heat the best we can. The snow spirits were talking about a candy bar that the present and former Australian IO delegation might be familiar with (Cherry-Ripe.) I understand that it is a cherry-coconut bar that's covered in dark chocolate (piquing my feline curiosity, but it's off my diet [:bigcry:].) I guess I can try throwing together a recipe to attempt a duplication of the candy. *shrug*
The idjits that caused the explosion were arraigned and the kids are currently wards of the State. The "clan" took turns visiting them through the isolation glass, several of them tearing up at the sight they beheld. Suoh made homemade ice cream bars, mixing the brownie batter by hand (said that it used up much of his aggressive energy to do that since the batter is rather thick and he loves to make several batches of each kind,) Kei made several pounds of homemade dragon's beard pasta, slamming the dough repeatedly against the table he used (we're going to use most of it, but some of the pasta's going to my friends and to Yoh's contact in the Chinese community.) The doctors and nurses in both the ED and Isolation received a delivery of Indian curry and pizza as a thank you from the "clan" (since they sometimes don't even have time to think, much less eat in the ER, and the people who are in charge of Isolation kinda have to keep an eye on certain types of patients because they can "go south" rather quickly.) Nekoyashiki summoned some "extra help", too (they'll be there until the kids either recover or have a "special visit" by one of the shinigami.)
Ah, gotta go. :kitty: complaint #42, subsection C ("You aren't paying me enough attention and I require my chosen pillow!")

Re: A game from IF that I think might be interesting
We had several of the guys go to the range to let out some of their aggression. You see, one of the shinigami had a job. One of the burn victims lost her battle, and it had affected almost everybody. The :kitty:s are hiding (have been since 11 this morning, only coming out to eat, drink and answer Nature's call.) The firearms experts (except for Wren) went through several cases of ammo (Wren can't use the same kind of ammo as the rest of them, being a heavy weapons specialist [hand cannons and vulcans, which would knock everybody else though whatever is supporting them].) The officer in charge of the artillery range couldn't believe his own eyes when Wren whipped out one of his weapons on the range, hitting the targets downfield.
The DA assigned to the case has been notified of the additional charge of either murder or manslaughter. He was a bit worried that someone from the "clan" would go after the chronological-adults (I reassured him that they have better ways to deal with their rage, but he's still adding security to their cells.)
Ah, gotta go. One of the kids is wanting some positive attention.

Re: A game from IF that I think might be interesting
("...I will follow this, it shows promise..." started the goblin now, letting each scene unfold within his mind again, outside, while the goblin still read through phyllis's intriguing posts, the hot summer's morning was fast approaching humid now, soon it would be sticky, after which, it would just reach its climax of insufferable, "...ah yes, summer as we know it today then, but either it seemed cooler years back or just I was just more able to coop with it..." voiced the goblin to himself as the kitchen kettle signaled "boiling point" before clicking itself off, where, between the sound of the distant traffic, the nearby ticking clock, and the occasional chirping bird, the goblin's tranquil reflective morning seemed reflectively deep rewarding even, a fine contrast to the day ahead where no doubt the price of paying attention to people's needs would emotionally drain him once more, concluding "...I suppose the only real freedom I have within this dailylife is just that of not fraying myself emotionally by thinking over it, in fact, "people sickness" starts when one can no longer look someonce straight in the face without feeling some strain in doing so...", simply the goblin was old enough to know the he had to pace himself emotionally during the busy season, he dealt with people and they exacted their price always)

Re: A game from IF that I think might be interesting
Just got back from the farmers market (it's that season again) and the entertainment gave up on their gig rather early on. Seems our reputation from last year has preceded us (unfortunately.) We sang a bit and a few of those able to juggled some of our purchases (relieved a bit of their boredom.) More marriage proposals. . . Oh, one of our songs: YouTube - Bruce Springsteen - Cadillac Ranch - Smokey & The Bandit (revised)
The guys had an interesting time of it with the kettle corn guy (they still jump when he lets the market know that there's a batch hot out of the kettle.) They still bought several bags of popcorn, though.
We almost bought out the honey vendor and the buffalo meat vendor (Emba's got an invite from the buffalo vendor to go hunting in his herd, which he'll take up.)
One of the vendors got in trouble with the police, though. Seems she was selling stolen goods and a couple of other charges (good thing we just glanced at her booth before moving on, but I felt sorry for those customers who did buy from her.)
The vendor we bought our bentos from remembered Tsukishima (two cookies in his bento box [one oatmeal raisin, the other chocolate chocolate chip] along with a tuna melt.) The young man was one happy camper if I do say so myself. He also informed us that they're selling the pink cookies starting sometime in either September or October. Tsukishima lit up like the Fourth of July skies here in the US. Sometimes he's more childlike than several of the actual children.
Ah, gotta go. Suoh wants to have a fish boil, using some of our purchases from today. He's kinda cute when he blushes.

Re: A game from IF that I think might be interesting
The airshow's back in town, and several of the "clan" want to go sometime this weekend (Nai's going to wear a pair of ear protectors that he bought [they're the "Mickey Mouse" style, which completely covers the ear].) The practice runs started yesterday and our apartment is frequently buzzed (because it's in the flight path) and Nai's suffering due to the jets (poor kid has extremely sensitive, almost non-human animal, hearing.)
We found out that the pilot from last year (or was it the year before) who caused Wren and Nova to scramble was grounded (he played around with his health, which is a big no-no for anybody flying a plane.) Several members of "the clan" encountered members of the Blue Angels aerobatic team (a lieutenant chatted a while with Wren while they were waiting for transportation, and the lieutenant informed Wren that the Blue Angels heard about the incredible rescue.)
I promised everybody that we're going to the farmers market tomorrow (that got them extremely excited.) They already have their lists ready and money set aside. The dogs "know" they're getting smoked buffalo bones from the buffalo vendor.
Oops, gotta go. Wren looks like he's ready to drop a couple of neighbors into Lake Michigan in such a way that would cause massive internal injuries.
