Re: A game from IF that I think might be interesting
*wipes face and hands*
Ah, you caught us in the middle of the "pig out". Scores of the adults tried fasting this year and a few had to stop early (nobody made a big deal about it in the "clan" but a few "outsiders" did [boy, Kenpachi had fun with them!]) Right now, a few of them are being "force fed" (in the "you're eating or else" method of force feeding.) Fruit, onigiri, steamed buns with either red bean paste or Chinese vegetables, banana "purses" with a chocolate drizzle and honey cake are being devoured by everybody.
Poor Asami learned the hard way not to break his fast with his usual beverage (bourbon. ) He woke up a few minutes after just a few sips (what did he expect after drinking on an empty stomach? [Idjit.] ) Anyway, he's being fed by Takaba, who is having fun at Asami's expense.
Gotta go. One of the "force fed"s has decided to go with the "or else". Wren, power down, please. Thank you. Kanou, Shigure, please put away your knives. Thank you.

Re: A game from IF that I think might be interesting
*peeks out from beneath a pile of clothes, making a "cave opening*
Three more! *primal scream that can be heard on the International Space Station*
Tsukishima, Kuroda and Seya are from the late Shogunate era (their clan fell after their shogun ran away, and the clan was defeated by pro-Imperial forces.) Tsukishima was given the "duty" of seppuku (he was given the "responsibility" of accepting the "fault" of the clan's laird, therefore, seppuku.) I don't have the heart to tell them that Tsukishima won't be able to return since he's dead there.
Asami's grateful that Kuroda's here since neither of them like sweets (as well as the fact that Kuroda's a former soldier.) Asami's introduced Kuroda to the sour cherry sorbet I have in my freezer (have to keep that stuff around for our gun-toting "businessman" or he gets a bit cranky.) Kuroda's been making toys and general mechanical repairs to "pay" for his "supper" as well as chatting with our swordsmiths/sharpeners.
I'm getting Seya an appointment with a "friend" due to combat stress. He's snapped, but not in the "I'm going to kill/maim/wound anybody and everybody who crosses my path" way. More like, he's more withdrawn than he was before their last battle, which took place not long after the sakura blossoms appeared. Several of the :kitty:s are "babysitting" him until his first appointment.
Gotta go. Tsukishima's getting into the peach Melba ice cream and he hasn't eaten dinner yet.

Re: A game from IF that I think might be interesting
Found out something interesting today. Kuroda's been taken "under wing" shall we say, by both Wren and Mieu (they're teaching him electronics and other similar things so he can do minor maintenance work on them if need be [or major repairs if disaster strikes, which we hope doesn't].)
Tsukishima's been "adopted" by the felines and Nekoyashiki as well as Rune (what a fostering! ) Tsukishima asked for a private formal ceremony, inviting just a handful of "humans" and a few representatives from the cattery to the tea ceremony that he hosted. It was an elaborate affair, to say the least.
Seya's going to be inpatient for a while (I hope he doesn't vanish like Aine did, but I feel he's got a stronger personality than she did.) It's just precautionary, but it may be for the best for all involved. He'll be escorted by a few of the guys, including his friends (for emotional support, I guess.) A couple of the guys who are roughly his size are loaning him clothes so he won't have to worry about walking around in one of those gowns (you know which ones!) I feel that if he went in wearing what he has been, his obi will be confiscated as well as a few other items ("precautionary measure" against suicide, in spite of the fact Seya would disembowel himself instead [seppuku].)
Gotta go. Seya's asking for my help.

Re: A game from IF that I think might be interesting
There was an impromptu skating "party" (I can't even begin figuring what percentage of "my clan" donned inline skates [what are mistakenly referred to as "rollerblades" since Rollerblades is a trademarked brand name].) I wish I had a digital movie camera (would've posted a few minutes of the skating, including some roller-dancing to Skateaway by Dire Straits.) Relax, I stayed on the sidelines since I'm not fond of fractures, especially recuperating from them.
Tsukishima's learning how to wear jeans since what he's used to wearing will get him into several fights (and, like what TV Tropes says, katanas aren't as powerful of a sword as is depicted in Japanophile-centered media.) We went to the farmers market afterwards (he just adores kettle corn as well as the different apples and pears.) I also rewarded him with a jar of blackberry honey and hot chocolate with mini-marshmallows (he's a happy camper, to say the least. ) His friend Kuroda got hot tea, several pints of pattypan squash, bicolor corn on the cob, hot pepper sauce, tomatoes, buffalo snack sticks and super sharp cheddar (he's also a happy camper.)
We had lunch there, too ("bento boxes" of sandwiches, chips/crisps, cookies and a beverage of choice.) They seemed to like the tuna "subs" and Tsukishima adored the "Breast Cancer Awareness" cookies, which are chocolate chocolate chip cookies with pink candy-coated chocolate "lentils" mixed in (a portion of the proceeds goes towards breast cancer research and helping pay for mammograms for those who cannot afford one.) The way I see it, they stuff their faces with something they like (especially the younger one), a respectable/responsible charity gets a donation, everybody's happy, except the "entertainer" who was upstaged by several Oriental audience members who couldn't stand his "music" (who knew that rap could be performed out-of-tune? *shrug*) Unfortunately for the guy, Cross, Lucifer, Sado, Yoh and several of the more musically-inclined members decided to sing for their "supper".
Gotta go. Tsukishima's asking about the cookies he had with lunch (I'm going to have to ask if they're selling them on campus again this year, probably going to have to buy several cases of them if the food service people are. )

Re: A game from IF that I think might be interesting
A few of "my clan" have demanded that I brag about my performance Wednesday (I really don't want to because I'm not that talented, especially compared to all of the others who sang. ) I sang a few of songs from my misspent youth, one from the sixties ( Sweet Cherry Wine by Tommy James), one from the seventies ( Long, Long Time by Linda Ronstadt) and one from eighties (can't recall which one right now). Then FeiLong "demanded" one more, which I chose from the nineties ( I Can't Make You Love Me by Bonnie Raitt.)
I know a couple of them aren't very "upbeat", but I couldn't think of any "festive" tunes at the time. Perhaps I'll make it up to them later.
Oops. Gotta go. Tsukishima's found the "deluxe" caramel apples.

Re: A game from IF that I think might be interesting
Ah, you caught me keeping an eye on the snow spirits. They are enjoying the chilly weather (seeing that it's in the 20s F. last I heard) and they are avoiding some of the louder neighbors. I figured that they earned a treat since they went to visit Seya in the hospital along with Kuroda and Tsukishima (note to self: never give that kid "bold" mocha before going anywhere!)
We're also getting ready for "The Great Haul", aka Halloween. I'm getting out the usual authors (Poe and le Fanu) plus polishing up the candlestick I use to read by. This year, I think I'll do something a bit different by having as many of "the clan" read something or tell a personal ghost story. Hell, with all of the shinigami, there's got to be at least two or three personal experiences, plus one of Astral's employees is a ghost herself. . . . Anyway, there are several discussions going on about what to wear trick or treating. I can hardly wait to see what they've decided on.
Speaking of tricks, the curses that were laid upon the restaurant back in May are starting to "kick in" and they are nasty. The weakest one is repeated visits from the Health Department and the fire marshal for several violations (and, for some reason, the staff cannot seem to fix them or, if they can, another pops up.)
Oh, and the deejays and crew from the telethon got to see Belinda again Friday (they did a live broadcast on campus.) She was a delight for the "pros" (they talked during the music/commercials) giving them updates on her progress. They're hoping to have her case back on the next telethon. Oh, and there was a promise made that "my clan" will do another fundraiser like they did, along with another bike tour.
Gotta go. Another neighbor/"guest" confrontation, and it looks like the "guest" is Wren. WREN, POWER DOWN AND REMOVE THE PULSE VULCAN NOW.

Re: A game from IF that I think might be interesting
My "clan" was asked if they'd help with an interesting project on campus: would they wear "pink ribbon" pins on their collars and inform those who ask about the pins about the importance of early detection of breast cancer (and other types of cancer, too if they'd like.) Rangiku's wearing two on either side of the blouse placket (she enters a room five minutes before she enters a room, shall we say.) Unfortunately, not everybody's that approachable (for example, Kenpachi and Madarame Ikkaku.)
Anyway, everybody's participating (including the newbies.) It was interesting watching Valentiano's reaction to the 'please talk about breasts' (I wonder how he'll go about it since he's a bit, um, "Old World" yet "stereotypical Italian".) I guess Emba, Yuuen, Tsukishima and Kuroda will have a time of it, too (two are prehistoric era, two are late shogunate era, and they have that "baggage", too.)
We're going for flu shots later this week (I have conversation topics prepared for each of the recipients ranging from hunting/gathering [for Emba and Yuuen] to astronomy [Rune and a few of Wren's/Mieu's companions] to mecha [Ryogo and Kazuki].) Seya's already had his (when he went inpatient) so he's going in with Tsukishima and Kuroda.
This just in: a promised impromptu a cappella concert by the vocally talented for the inoculations (a way to keep minds off of the needles.)
Gotta go. Rangiku's being harassed and those accosting her are being targeted by several of the "clan", including her.

Re: A game from IF that I think might be interesting
This just in (something [another member of IO] might appreciate): another :kitty: delegation's contribution to Breast Cancer Awareness Month (picture follows.) Might get the :kitty:s to wear the same collars this month.
Anyway, Sakuya had a chat with a kid on campus. The lad felt something during his after-class shower and Sakuya suggested that he get it checked asap to make sure it was nothing (if it's nothing, no problem; if it's something, you can get it taken care of before it becomes a major problem. ) I'm so proud of Lucifer's lead singer!
Gotta go. I sense more "guests" joining "my clan". *primal scream heard beyond the solar system*

Re: A game from IF that I think might be interesting
Three more (all onmyoujin): Subaru, his twin sister Hokuto and their friend Seishirou. The "clan" knows the routine by heart (at least the veterans do.) Why don't some of them go home!? There are so bloody many that I can't keep track of most of their names!
I guess I'm just tired. I'll update later. *drags self to awaiting bed, a :kitty: in tow*

Re: A game from IF that I think might be interesting
Al just got home. Poor guy was still chuckling, wiping the tears from his face. He told me about the butcher who was giving out samples of prime rib and the confrontation with this one "animal rights" person (the person only believes in animal rights when it's convenient [I know the person, so I know what I'm talking about].)
As anybody who is familiar with prime rib knows, one doesn't even have to take a bite of it to know it's from an animal. Anyway, the bint was caught by her "sneaking" a sample from his platter, then eating it. A vegetarian might take a sample but not eat it him-/herself. The butcher (who I met several years ago) said to Al that the prime rib isn't the only item full of beans in the meat department. Al responded that he's not interested at all in someone who would require a jackhammer to remove all the makeup from her face. Besides he's already taken and his SO is rather jealous. Ranmaru glared at that moment.
Oh, later on the female who had on too much makeup tried to pick up a few of my guys, including Yuuen. Yuuen told her that his husband was standing over by the cat litter. She asked if he (Yuuen) wasn't a guy, which he replied yes but it didn't change the fact that his husband was standing over by the cat litter.
Before anybody asks, yes several of the members in my "clan" fly for that airline. There are several homosexuals and even more bis in the group.
Well, anyway, she tried to pick up Al again and tried for Sado. Sado apologized, telling her that he was underage. At that moment, several of the okama approached her and gave her makeup tips and tips on how to pick up "legal" guys. The only one she avoided was Seishirou (poor guy, unappreciated.) She ended up running out of the store, crying.
Oh, don't worry about my guys getting in trouble with either security or management (the bint's a thorn in their side.) I wonder if she uses the store as a singles bar. *shrug*
Gotta go. The delivery's here.
