Re: A game from IF that I think might be interesting
I sent my "clan" a huge order of Italian (much to Al's sheer delight and the poor cooks' dismay.) You see, I had to order out, so I decided to call a local Italian restaurant. 40 pizzas, 20 full pans of pasta, 20 full pans of different entrees and 20 large salads were quickly consumed by all and Al quickly used Wren's wireless to call in his compliments. From what Wren's told me, they switched to speaking Italian almost immediately, Al becoming rather animated (methinks there's another restaurant on my contact list for the group. )
Oh, and I have a new guy. I'm not sure how to explain that his space will soon be restricted due to hundreds of others (he has Asperger's which, for those not familiar with it, is a form of autism where the person has the cognitive skills but not the social skills.) Daiba Tatsumi might be an asset in easing all of the logistics (he's a computer genius but an interpersonal klutz. ) I hope he learns quickly which of the guys are wearing *You'd Better Chill* signs before he's a head shorter. *puke*
Oops, gotta go. Incoming message from Wren.

Re: A game from IF that I think might be interesting
It feels strange cooking for only three after cooking for hundreds for so long. I have to practically force Daiba to leave his computer to do more than take care of "Do not disturb" stuff, but I have a sneaking suspicion that Ukitake will be more than happy to persuade him (threaten him with both 3rd seats and he'll do anything.) Sloppy joes with cheese, barbecue potato wedges, a quick salad and orange spritzers really were helpful (don't worry, [another member], I used veggie "meat" for the sandwiches so my apartment's still okay.) Wren stopped by for another bento box pick-up.
When he got back, he broadcast an aerial photo of the "clan" to give Daiba an idea of how big the gang actually is (poor guy nearly had a cardiac incident seeing the area completely covered in people during the rest stop) and also connected him to several of the participants (Mamoru, the blind swordmaster, spoke with him for a few minutes, reassuring him that no humanoid will intrude on his personal space unless absolutely necessary, but he'd have to discuss his parameters with the :kitty:s individually. ) Both Yoh and Suoh spoke for a short while as did Sakuya and Yuki. Byakuya, Kenpachi and Shuuhei just kind of looked at Wren quizzically while Belinda just waved with her good hand. I explained that the little girl had a stroke, which was why her one hand looked strange.
Gotta go. I have "demands" for more of the sloppy joes and I should get the chocolate hazelnut ice pops out of the freezer for dessert.

Re: A game from IF that I think might be interesting
I had a (relatively) long conversation with Daiba on his terms (Asperger's can make normal conversations difficult) reassuring him that he'll be left alone by the humanoid members of the "clan" unless he invites them to sit for a while. I introduced him to a couple of :kitty:s, Cigar (a Havana brown) and Positron (a "friendly-parents"), who stayed behind while the horde of their comrades went "traveling". The three of them have been sequestered in Daiba's "cave" since six this morning, the :kitty: flap opening and closing occasionally.
The bike shop's employee has regaled me with more stories from the road, like the idjit biker (as in motorcycle) who decided to try something "funny" and found himself face-to-face with several armed and displeased men. He wiped out when he ran across Komamura and Madarame, knocking Madarame down. I don't think the guy's going to soon forget a (real) fox-headed humanoid.
Wren picked up today's bento boxes, squid jerky and plantain chips earlier (they're having curry) along with more :kitty: toys, trading photos from the road. Suoh's been really protective of Tiger Lily from what I've been told. Takaba sent me a photo of the huge man cuddling up with a three-and-a-half or four month old kitten (aw, cute!)
Gotta go. A request for leftovers.

Re: A game from IF that I think might be interesting
Mieu called (she's the other android that came with Wren), her giggles escaping. You see, they heard a song on a radio that was quite appropriate for "the clan": It's Raining Men by The Weather Girls. The guys were quite nervous and the gals just broke down laughing. I'm not letting them live that down!
They are pedaling eastward for the fourth leg of the trek and several representatives of the media have been interviewing various members, asking about the fundraiser (some have talked about how to start local fundraisers, too.) Tiger Lily's been a hit, especially when she's curled up on Suoh's broad shoulder.
Oops, gotta go. Daiba's just informed me that there's an incoming from Wren.

Re: A game from IF that I think might be interesting
Just got back from visiting "the campground" (Wren flew me in his helicopter form [fun! *biggrin*].) Arrived just in time to be interviewed by a freshman DJ (won't have a long career if we have our way! ) I mean, he was representing a secular station but kept bringing in his fundamentalist Christian propaganda, even trying to convert those who are blatantly non-Christian [like the members of Astral, the shinigami, our "ancients", those who come from worlds/realities that don't have the same tenets as his, etc.]. *Note to self - deliver the pile of Chick Tracks to Tyler and America*) Our shinto priestess cleansed the entire area of that guy's aura, placating the spirits who were quite angry, saving everybody remaining from not-so-nice aftereffects.
Ryoutou and Nekoyashiki had fun with him.
Anyway, I got a chance to sing with the gang (I sang Harmony by Elton John, This Masquerade by George Benson, Hot Rod Lincoln by Commander Cody and Mercedes Benz by Janice Joplin.) The twins just howled with laughter during Hot Rod Lincoln, tears streaming from their eyes, falling over and clutching their sides. They're just lucky they were able to find trees to "water" in time, shall we say. *biggrin*
Anyway, one of the other interviewers asked how this strange fundraising idea came about, then Yuki began talking about the Children's Hospital fundraiser began, then Suoh took over with his adopting Tiger Lily. I just told the interviewer that this fundraiser just stems from block parties we usually have during pleasant weather, but with the addition of a new group, Circus. Hirato took over, describing some of things that they'll do, Yogi demonstrating a few of his tricks (show-off. )
Still another interviewer was taken aback by Mamoru ("How can somebody who is totally blind navigate through the terrain he has to?") I just suggested that he show what he has hidden in his cane (yeah, I can be a female canine. ) I told her that he's proficient in its use and that he's never struck an ally with it. Her look was priceless (sword canes can do that to a "normal" person.)
Gotta go. Daiba's calling and he sounds frantic.

Re: A game from IF that I think might be interesting
They are asleep (I played an interesting lullaby - A Song for Mama by Boyz II Men - using Wren as a sound system.) I have a sneaking suspicion that the song's going on the list of songs to learn/sing during our future appearances. If so, I wonder if it's going to be Sado or Yoh singing the bass part.
*sigh* Daiba's quite a bit of help right now, but I wonder how long that's going to last. I've never really dealt with an adult with any form of autism before, so this is a brand new experience for me. At least Ukitake's learned some of Daiba's current routine.
Gotta go. I don't want to have my sleep patterns ruined enough that I won't be able to handle the return of the insanity (aka "the clan".)

Re: A game from IF that I think might be interesting
Just got some news about "my clan" (of crazy idiots with "stones" the size that ate the sun without getting singed): they have an octet working on three Boyz II Men songs (one of them with a female/two females doing Mariah Carey's part.) Yep, the are currently practicing A Song for Mama, Goodbye to Yesterday and One Sweet Day. The music teacher told me they couldn't decide between Sado or Yoh for bass, so they decided to use both, then everybody's part had to be doubled to balance it out.
Another is practicing Trapped by Bruce Springsteen, still another's practicing Me and Little Andy by Dolly Parton and Yoh's practicing Ikanaide (got a reaction from Belinda.) The lady from the bike shop might be falling for our "underground information gathering expert" (but she'd better take a number. )
They're on their final leg of the tour (the one home.) Last night, one of the members of the press brought along several cooks from his neck of the woods. They introduced my "clan" to the Door County Fish Boil (Colonel Mustang had fun with that, especially when the kerosene was added to the boil. ) As I mentioned before, my "clan" has "stones" big enough to swallow the sun and get frostbite.
Gotta go. Gotta get things set up for their return.

Re: A game from IF that I think might be interesting
Ah, welcome to "Residual Chaos starring Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine".
I finally got the last of my "clan" to sleep (note to self: locate Warm Ways by Fleetwood Mac) and tomorrow's going to be even more chaotic. Our fundraiser starts tomorrow in earnest (oh G!d/dess!) and they (my "clan") have scraped up some donations for the victims of the Greek wildfires (the money's already wired to a respectable/responsible organization.)
Uryuu and Hirato chatted about Uryuu's little "signal", Hirato visibly impressed with the younger man's ingenuity. Well, it is an asset to use hand signals during fights because it doesn't require anything that could alert the opponent as to what's going on. The only thing better would be telepathy, but I don't think anybody here has that ability. Hirato later went to discuss the use of "gestures as tactical communication" with his troops and the other commanding officer.
I ordered Italian again, and the head chef personally came over to assist in the setting up of the dinner buffet (although I believe he spent more time chatting with Albert than supervising the setup. ) He regretted having to go back to the kitchen at the restaurant, but Al left his personal phone number with him so he can call whenever he wants/has time to chat.
The :kitty:s that went on the tour have reacclimated to their territory, but there's going to be a few fights in the foreseeable future (as anybody who has ever resided with :kitty:s knows, they are creatures of habit; disturb the routine and :kitty: gets cranky. ) And with a colony as big as I have . . . .
Ah, just found out that my "clan" got a request to extend the "block party" until the day after American Labor Day. Hey, [another member]! I need "the good stuff"!

Re: A game from IF that I think might be interesting
Keigo's in hot water (again. ) Tsukumo kicked him in a way he won't soon forget! ( ) Eva followed that with one of her special attacks. He's on bed rest until further notice.
The :kitty:s are a hit with the people at the "block party", especially when Tiger Lily is perched on Suoh's shoulder ( her territory!) And, if the timing right, her story's up on screen while they're "cruising" the crowd.
Yogi's mascot costume's a huge hit with the people at the costume shop (they couldn't take enough photos of the ham. ) They promised to store the costumes for the next time we're going to need them with one stipulation: Hirato, Yogi, Yoh, Asami, Al, Ranmaru, Wren and the twins have to pick them up. Harassment ahoy!
Oh, and there were representatives from the bike shop, the radio station (live broadcasts the entire stint!) and from the places we're donating everything to (they're extremely grateful for everything we're doing for them.)
The food's been a hit, too (and not the "Please drop a non-perishable item in the drum", although we've been lucky that's going rather well.) Frozen concessions are sold by the snow spirits (they've returned from Antarctica, refreshed [crazy snow spirits!] and rarin' to go.) The people from Circus have avoided the "winter room" as I call it because it's too cold for them (fur coats can go in, but it's still a bit chilly, even for them, but just a bit warm for the snow spirits.)
Kanou scammed a scam artist (that guy's not going to live it down over the weekend while he's getting three-hots-and-a-cot courtesy of state police.) One of Hirato's low-ranked underlings took the guy in (Hirato filled out the paperwork with one of his new pens that he picked up from the farmers market booth [he adores his olive set as much as Asami and FeiLong treasure their respective sets] and asked for copies of the paperwork for his personal files.) The jerk tried to pass himself off as a representative of one of the charities, but when Kanou asked a few questions, he cracked, then tried bolting. Ran right into Kuba-nii ( ).
Anyway, everybody got the pool after we shut down for the evening (except Keigo, who is in solitary until he recovers/chills.) The kids stayed in the shallows with plenty of adults playing with/keeping at least one eye on them. Al brought a toy replica of the sailboat he takes on occasion, much to several males' (both adult and underage) delight. We ended the evening with burritos.
Gotta go since tomorrow's going to be just as busy (except for Keigo and the scammer, I hope!)

Re: A game from IF that I think might be interesting
Rules of thumb when going grocery shopping with my "clan":
1) Refrain from giving them anything with either caffeine or sugar (especially the berserkers!)
2) Keep the more hyper ones "on a leash" (especially the berserkers!)
3) Wait to see if any of the security staff will ask for assistance in capturing someone
4) Offer a reward for good behavior (especially to the berserkers!)
5) Send only half of group, keeping the others beside you (especially berserkers!)
Long story short: a violent shoplifter (punched three workers at the store) ran across the paths of my "clan", initiating the "chase" response of roughly 400 people. I made the mistake of giving them the go-ahead.
The suspect is recovering in the prisoner area of a local hospital and my guys raided the chocolate stash (those who didn't raided the fruit stash.) *sigh*
Gotta go talk with the detectives. Again.
