Your top five authors?
Who would you rate as your top five authors? It can be from any genre, from great series to just one book.
This question is always difficult for me. There are so many books that I can just go back to and read, over and over again, so narrowing it down to just five is a challenge.
1/ Anne McCaffrey. I loved the Dragonriders of Pern series. It's the one that got me into reading fantasy to begin with.
2/ David Eddings. Another favourite from my childhood. I can still read the Belgariad and such with a fond smile on my face.
3/ Koji Suzuki. Rather a new name for me, but once I'd found his Ring trilogy (the one the film was based on) I was hooked.
4/ Miyuki Miyabe. I've only read the one book of hers - All She was Worth - but I really enjoyed her writing style, and the book itself was a great little detective novel.
5. Tad Williams. I loved War of the Flowers, and I'm looking to read some more of his books in the near future.
Others that made the top ten would have to be Robin Hobb, Robert Jordan, Jim Butcher, Neil Gaiman and the last place would go to Masamune Shirow, not a novelist as such, but a great artist and storyteller.
How about you?

Re: Your top five authors?
Asimov, Conan Doyle, Clarke (as in Arthur C.), Heinlein, and King ( as in Stephen). And five is definitely too few.
