I think that tatoos are art. My husband doesn't. To each their own I guess but I truly don't see how anyone doesn't see them as art. I would LOVE to have a piece placed on my lower back or shoulder but my husband doesn't approve and I try to keep him happy.

I consider them art. A good tattoo expresses the inner feelings of its wearer, just as a painting expresses the inner feelings of the painter.

I think they are art. All of my brothers tattoos are awesome. They were done by the same person and he is very talented.

I think that if the tattoo is tasteful and expresses someone's personal beliefs/thoughts or accentuates, then it is art. If it looks like crap and obviously spur of the moment, I really cringe!

I think that tattoos can be considered art. I happen to think people who do tattoos have to be good artists to begin with.

This is true...and since I can draw pretty well, everyone tells me I should get into it, but I say, no way, I tend to erase a lot to get the fine features I come up with, and there's no way I can get away with that on a tattoo...not without being punched out haha

My sons do their own tattoos from conception to needles work. They bought their own set up witht he help of their father, who used to do tattoes for a few years.

Do your sons work at a shop that I might be able to visit? If it's not too far from me (perhaps a neighboring state...), and if there's a site, I might want to check it out!

i suppose so yes...if done with taste. theres some pretty ridiculous and hideous looking tattoos out there. they kinda ruin what tattoos are about... individuality, being unique and expressing oneself in a tasteful way. crappy tattoos just give tats a bad name! i quite like mine though. maybe ill show later!

I love my tats, for the most part mine all have a meaning to me. (the biger tribal one was a reward for something very personal and the other three are to do with my faith.
