Windy
Oh my gosh, wind is blowing again. We have sustained winds of 30-40 mph. Wind was blowing so hard that it not only knocked over semi-trucks on the roads, but blew a train off its track!!!!

Re: Windy
Same in here. And cold. Brrr. They announced minus 17'C this evening. You may say it's not so cold, but I must add this Saturday it was over 15'C. We had a small storm of snow on Sunday. It didn't last. This winter is really strange.

Re: Windy
of course, as an American, educated in American public schools, I forgot how to convert celcius to farenheit (looking sheepishly!!) You are in Canada, right?
Yeah, it's el nino, they say. We are supposed to get more snow in the next couple of days. Just in time for me to travel to a conference... woohoo! The black ice and ground blizzards are the worst.

Re: Windy
Don't worry Wyo ! Between American and English people around, our poor metric system or Celsius degrees are misused frequently. Anyway, for temperature the best would be general conversion to Kelvin degrees. 0°K (coldest temperature possible in the universe) = -273,15°C or - 459,67°F)
Now I may be stupid but what's "black ice" ?

Re: Windy
Ok, merci. Usually it's classical around here. But this year we're still waiting for negative temperature (under 32°F or 0°C)... It's as hot as in April. And sunny !!! Unbelievable for a native Parisian as little me.

Re: Windy
It's not snowed here yet; even the Jura's only got a few white patches.
And everything's coming into flower; when it does freeze, it's going to be a massacre.

Re: Windy
black ice- patches of ice on the highway that doesn't reflect, very difficult to see
Was at a conference at another town, one travels about 3 1/2 hours at 65-75 mph, and only go through one other town! Temps didn't get much over 0F. Was 8-10 below most of the time.
