Re: joy joy weekend.
You have my sympathies and I hope you've had them yourself at some remote time in the past.

Re: joy joy weekend.
I'm afraid I don't have a super week-end either. I have a new supervisor. She proved being incompetent and not eager to help her stuff when needed in her 3 months of work. As I'm not the type of keeping my mouth shut, I told her I really dont't appreciate her work with us in front of her team and her direct boss. I really hope they'll move her into another departement. I cannot stand incompetence and poor human qualities in the same time.

Re: joy joy weekend.
I'm sorry, Ivy. I hear mumps can be a pain. Never had them myself...I have an inherited natural immunity, as my father never had them either, nor did his mother. Not that my mother didn't try to get me to get them when everyone else had them...that was in the days before there was an immunization for them, and most kids got them as a matter of course. Out of my whole kindergarten class, I was the only one who did not get them that year.

I sincerely hope you're speaking of human ones (not your managers at home. )
My day's completely shot right now (we have a "situation" on another board that we're trying to deal with without the benefit of a trained therapist as well as a "troll" and an "MPD" posting on another one.)
Princess Ivy, count your blessings (last semester, there was a small epidemic of mumps here in Milwaukee [somewhere between 60 and 100 confirmed cases last I heard] and one of my instructors was pregnant at the time, so she couldn't get the shot.)

Re: joy joy weekend.
Had mumps when a teen (both sides) so that's at least one childhood disease I wouldn't fear if baby got it (no vaccination against it is mandatory here). Although I don't want him or her to have it, as I remember it was quite painful. I hope Lex is better now.
And Alexa, your company seems to be the perfect example for Dilbert management. Good luck suriviving the new boss.

Re: joy joy weekend.
yeah, it was literally saturday and sunday. apparantly, as his body built the immunity, he went through the symptoms. on the plus side, i know he's immune
i'm very surprised there is no mmr over there. do you know why? was it stopped? would it be because of the autism scare? sorry to bombard, but very curious

Re: joy joy weekend.
The autism scares I think. The only mandatory ones are Diphteria, Tetanos, tuberculosis, Polio and I think measles. Hepatitis B is reccommended and also another one for female teens.
Anyway, mumps as chicken pox is quite frequent but very, very rarely lethal here, hence the decision I guess not to vaccinate people against it.
I had the same problem with "rubeole" vaccination (can't find the name of the disease in English, similar to measles but can be lethal to unborn babies if the mother have it during pregnancy). I was vaccinated 4 times, developped the disease 3 times out of 4, and now still is just barely immune to it.
