I can't decide which film to get, V is for Vendetta is just out, but nightwatch also looks great. am looking for review and recomendations here folks.

nightwatch is a russian film, no cheesy hollywood. the basic story is that there are 'others', people with special abilities, some are vampires, some seers, shape shifters etc... there are good others, and bad others, they were having a war, but the leader of the light was troubled and called a truce. both sides are perfectly balance, and each side polices the other, the nightwatch police the dark others and the daywatch police the light others. they are waiting for the other who will shift the balance, then the war will be finished, but no one knows which side he/she will choose. Nightwatch is the first in a trillogy, focusing on the policing of the dark others. But it was really well done, i was worried about the russian soundtrack with english subtitles, but the subtitles were done as part of the screen and after i'd finished watching it i was surprised to realise that i'd not even noticed them, just understood and enjoyed the film.

i did enjoy, bit darker than usual happy endings stuff, but not as dark as it could have been.

I'd kill to have english or french translation of the novels. Seems so much is missing in the movie.

was it a novel? or graphic novel? and with the sucess of the film, am very surprised there is no translation yet.
we need stalker, he was into russian lit and would have been able to tell us!

I've discussed with stalker when the movie was out in France, it was a modern fantasy trilogy in form of regular novels.
