Re: i'm having a heatwave
The Turkish Van :kitty: delegation will join you.
We had severe storms yesterday/last night (last I heard roughly 900 properties still don't have power but the utility company's working to restore electricity to the affected areas) and today we're expecting to have temperatures in the 90s [F]. The heat index is going to be in the 100s.

Re: i'm having a heatwave
hah both set and Cat-rine keep falling into the bath. sigh. they think they are turkish vans! and then to add insult to injury set went and fell into the neighbours bath as well!
but yeah, i'm not holding out much hope for the storms, and am praying that my laundry gets dry before they hit. i'm trying to get all of mom's things ready for her trip (even through she has had a week to prepare and i've had to go into her bedroom to get the washing, but we won't mention that...)

It's hot and humid in here, too. And this is no good for my allergies.

Re: i'm having a heatwave
i';ve got bulk collections tommorow for two matrasses, a broken chest of drawers and an old push chair. must admit, after dragging out all that rubbish, we fell onto the less knackered matrass in the cool evening breeze and settled down for half hour..

Re: i'm having a heatwave
Luckily Scotland has been hot but quite bearable - hate to think what it's like back in Hull, with no way for the wind to get in and offer a cooling breeze...

Two words: ragweed season
The weather here has pretty much been a series of "ditto days" of hot and humid, plus I'm currently on medications that make me hypersensitive to heat (thank the PtBs that I have a built-in air conditioner in my apartment [which is whirring behind me right now.]) I also have some homemade frozen ice pops in the freezer right now (one batch of tropical fruit, one batch of devil's food pudding ice pops.)

Re: i'm having a heatwave
hehe, i go through 80ice lollies a week. luckily our local frozen food specialist sells two boxes of 40 for £4.50. not just my kids though. i have all the neighbourhood kids stopping by, 'can we have a tiptop' 'lex's/zoe's mom'? hehe my house is always full
but now, things are cooling down and nice wind blowing. i'm really enjoying.
