What makes you... insert gender here

identity question, what makes you a man or woman? this has come up in my psyc work. apparently it's not as simple as you would think. looking beyond the obvious, which isn't that obvious apparently, biological cues, thinking for yourself, what is it which is the essense of your identity? is there a single charecteristic which makes you feel feminine or masculine?
please note, this is not a debate on which is better or wose, or a flaming match, it's a question of identity.
for me, it's being a mother, it's being...
so difficult to answer, it's so much a part of me that i don't really even know right now.

Oh, that's easy. The ability to get into town, purchase the items I want to purchase and get back down to the pub within twenty minutes flat. Clearly I'm a man.

Hmm. Interesting question. I think a lot about the futur: what I what do do, what I want to realize or what I want to buy (new furniture, a house etc *:wink

then trace plans and follow them step by step. If I don't have enough money, I wait and save them. Well, not every time. I have my periods when I enter and buy exactly what I want and don't care about the money. At least not at the moment :biggrin:

I like to receive flowers and gifts and be pampered. And I like changing my mind as often as possible and see how a man panics at my reactions

I don't like going to the pub.

No. My theory is that men have a homing device which leads them to the nearest pub or bar. It's only a theory at the moment though. I've been doing some research, but unfortunately I always seem to neglect to make detailed notes having successfully reached my final destination! :biggrin:

hmmmmm, not sure. Maybe intuitiveness. maybe not. I hate to shop, can't stand trying on clothes.maybe the ability to fake an orgasm? haha. just joking, kinda. Being a mother is one thing, but it was my husband that enjoyed getting up in the middle of the night with the kids, gave them their first bath....and he made a great lasagne tonight. kept a great house while i was away in grad school.

I think the main thing which make you feel that you are a man or a woman is the abilities you which God gave you.

that means, the man has his own characteristics and the woman has her own characteristics. e.g. If you want to build a castle you will build a too high thick walls, and a very strong steel gate, and norrow windows, etc. which is different from building a beach cabin which has the opposite characteristics.

so you can see the real man strong, wise(not all of them) , tough, etc. but the real woman you'll find her kindhearted, hasty(not all of them) , soft, etc.

I can't see myself sleeping with a man like me.

so I think that everybody knows his abilities so he can know who he is.
