Robin and Marian
Just because I happened on this film again, showing on cable. It's one of my favorites, and I haven't seen it in years.
But, isn't that just like a man? Robin comes back to Nottingham after twenty years or so, and just expects Marian to be sitting there patiently waiting for him. He is so genuinely taken aback that she's moved on in life. Amazing.

Never heard of this movie, can you tell me more about it ? The story seems interesting.

Re: Robin and Marian
Sure. It's Robin Hood and Maid Marian, twenty or thirty years on. Robin has been in the Holy Land, fighting in the Crusades. He expects that Marian will be sitting there waiting for him to come home. But Marian has become a nun, moved on with her life, and is in some trouble with, who else, the Sheriff of Nottingham.
Oh. Sean Connery is Robin and Audrey Hepburn is Marian.

Re: Robin and Marian
Audrery Hepburn as a Nun Marian, wait a minute. Seems familiar, may have seen it long, long time ago when I was a kid. May worth to be tracked down again.
Thanks for the precision.

Re: Robin and Marian
I know. They always show the stupid movies twenty times, and the really good ones never turn up. As for Robin and Marian, I just happened to come upon it on AMC while I was looking for something to watch. Must have been a good day for movies, as last night on Hallmark Channel they showed Will Penny, a western from 1968 that I really like and haven't seen for years. I'm usually not much for westerns, but this is a very character driven story about an old saddle tramp (played by Charleton Heston) who takes up with a widow woman (Joan Hackett)living in a cabin he was supposed to eject her from because it was on his boss's land. It's a wondeful film, and so very sad.

Re: Robin and Marian
I'm afraid I didn't see it. 1976 ? Hmm.
The story doesn't look interesting, but Connery and Audrey Hepburn together must be something.
