Default Do they know it's christmas time...

bah! first xmas ads airing now. though i must say, it is a bit later than usual. last year they were flooding us in october, it's really just a tricle at the moment. but when will retailers learn not to bombard us with inducements to spend out poor little cash, months in advance. if i really did buy my kids presents this early, they'd have them off me!

They mixed up Halloween and christmas stuff this year. So I am a bit confused.

Orange : it's Halloween
Red : it's Chrismas.

Sweets are valid no matter the season

So true!!

So far I"ve been lucky, not a single Christmas ad yet. Of course, the amount of tv I've seen in the past few weeks is enough to fill up maybe an hour...

It's not just the toys and the cards that's a problem. The Chrismas Fruit Mince Tarts have been on the shelves for weeks now!
Should I buy a few, just to make sure the taste will be good enough for the Christmas Festivities?

tis always better to test them out.
my son has decided what he wants for xmas. a ride on battery powered motorcycle. £80! that's his entire christmas budget and over! i have however found a very nice alternative which will help in next year's planting. a battery powered ride on scoop (that's digger to those of you who don't do bob the builder). with a working arm. and much much cheaper!

I've been in stores that are already playing Christmas music. *shudder* I don't like Christmas music, I'm not a big fan of Christmas, and I certainly don't want to have to endure the "holiday spirit" before Thanksgiving. But I have to keep my mouth shut, because people will scold anyone who isn't "with the program" of all that holiday cheer.

Bah, humbug.

Oh, I know. There aren't very many movies that I hate. But I really, really hate It's A Wonderful Life. My idea of the perfect holiday movie is Home For The Holidays, directed by Jodie Foster, I believe, and stars Holly Hunter, Robert Downey, Jr., and Dylan McDermott. Schmaltzy it ain't.
