Default Music player lust?

Anyone else here lusting after an ipod or any other form of music player? I don't own a portable cd player, I live in a house with four other people so listening to what I want when I want never happens, and my car's cd player is broken so I get the radio or nothing. I've been lusting over an Ipod forever. There are so many songs out there I'd like to be able to listen to 'on demand' that it almost makes me crazy. Just as an all-out tease, I have a cheesy little mp3 player that can hold about 10 songs. I can't play them in any order other than how they are downloaded and I have to listen to them over and over until I can get to the computer to download more songs. I basically just don't use it anymore because it is such a hassle.

How about you guys?

No lust, as I test them all (www.tomshardware.com). But I own an Ipod Mini and love it.
Nowadays, flash memory is cheaper and cheaper, you can find some good flash player with about 50 to 100 songs in for less than 50 bucks.
This one is one of the best choices :

Avoid the RCA ones.

Thanks for the info! If I ever get any spending money I'll keep your recommendation in mind.

I would LOVE an ipod, but I don't have that kind of cash (poor college student). I have been looking at different mp3 players lately, and have been comparing them, their prices, and other things. Right now I think that I am going to buy the iRiver IFP-790 or 795. I was looking at the Creative mp3 payers, but from a lot of reviews, they said that the battery flap is flimsey and the player itself might only work for a few weeks. I want an ipod!!

i dunno, i keep my eye out for deals, but at the moment i don't even have a walkman, much less an i-pod. one of the things stopping me is the cost of legitimate downloads.

Get the Creative, they're much better than the iRiver for the sound. And I had no trouble with battery flap on the many models I've used.
Creative sound is on par with Apple's iPod.

How did you get that terrific job? I test toothpaste and shampoo and the like, but I'd sure like to test fun stuff like that!
