Default Relationships; starting-holding-finishing...

I need advice. A few weeks ago I started back at school (now starting my final year at school before Uni (hopefully)) anyway, there's someone I like but I can't think of a good way to approach them and just saying 'hi' without it seeming too 'out-of-the-blue' and awkward (I really don't like the spelling of that word :smilie. Has anyone else had the same problem? More importantly has anyone else got advice on how to solve the problem.

Same problem? Oh yes. Advice? None at all, I left school having never asked  Don't end up like that, just try to get chatting somehow. Create an accidental meeting

as cliched and 'out-of-the-blue' as it may seem, hi is always a good conversation opener, but i'd suggest talking to people with whom you have something in common, or 'hi' could be the end as well as start of the conversation.

Just try, "Hi, do you know where/when... ?" asking direction or time-table schedule is always a good conversation opener at this time of the year.
Anything from where is the math room to when does the theatre club open its inscription will work, if it's related to the person's occupation or hobbies.

Well that might be a bit awkward because I've been at this school for 6 years now. So I can't ask for directions.
Since I'm in the year above I have a completely different timetable and sparking up a random conversation is going to be very difficult. Nothing is impossible though...

Thanks for the help guys!

Remember to not sound too dumd though. If you ask where a classroom is, she might think you're just stupid

Today I went into school hoping to somehow set up this 'surprise encounter' but to no avail. She has people with her almost all the time so it's difficult to approach her in the first place, let alone say something without it seeming weird that I've just walked up and said something when I've never spoken to her in my life.

However, I have faith since I'm naturally a very lucky person, so if I want something to happen it usually does.

BE AFRAID, BE VERY AFRAID!
