Default Cooking tip ?

As I need some help to sterilize some tomato sauce pots, I guessed it could be a good idea to open a thread where we could share infos on how to : turn old left-overs into new dish, make mayonnaise sauce (never succeed), etc...

So, my first question is : I've got a big pot to sterilize and usually I put it on the vapor basket of my pressure-cooker (check the pic as i'm not sure of the translation). This one can't stay because it's too big. What can I do ?

i'd just boil it out. steam is the ultimate steriliser. put water in it and leave it with the lid on for ten mins.
as for mayo, the secret is in adding the oil one drop at a time. it takes hours, but its worth it!

Problem the pot - which is in glass - may break if directly in contact with the bottom of the pressure cooker.

can the pot not go directly onto the cooker? or into the microwave? the steam and boiling water inside it will still do the job.

Last time I've tried directly onto the cooker (i.e. without being in the vapor pasket) it explode. And there's metal to attach it so it rule out microwave.

I'll try with towels in. But later, now I'm too tired to think straight.

The eggs for the mayo should be fresh, otherwise you have no chances to get it.
