Most hated aspects...
...of your job. Well most of us hate our jobs, some are lucky (won't mention any names) but in the worst, and most perfect or jobs, there is something that we all hate. so what is it?
for me, as a housewife, it's that i'm always on call.

Re: Most hated aspects...
Most hated ? Hands down, re-writing because one of my bosses has changed his mind on the article I'm about to write. Usually very close to the deadline.

Re: Most hated aspects...
ouch, that sounds tough. with my own writing i don't mind crits from my writers circle, friends or family, i'm not sure how i'm going to take comments from editors though. but i'll have to bite the bullet. once i've finished it. grr.

Re: Most hated aspects...
You won't have this problem much, because whatever the editors say the story is yours. In my case, it's more on a Friday afternoon : "Oh, you've investigated and wrote in this direction, but what about that one ? Can you write about it too in, say, half a page ? What, means you've to undo everything and start from scratch new investigation ? No problem, you still have till Monday morning."

Re: Most hated aspects...
I've heard of that happening, only here, my understanding is that the article will be re-written, but still run under your bi-line by someone who knows nothing of the subject or research or interviews. you find out about it when it arrives as printed copy.

Re: Most hated aspects...
What, UK newspapers actually pay 2 people to do a job 1 can do alone ?
They must be richer than here. Here I do writing, re-writing, photo search for the illustration, labs testing and I answer to the readers.

Re: Most hated aspects...
Hmm. Do you have enough time to listen me on the subject ? I don't think so. I'll make it short for you. I really cannot stand superficial, incompetent and lazy people. Damn, if you really don't like what you do, search something else ! I am in a position where no mistake is aloud. If you have the head at your husband gone into another province for a job, instead of having a wake up signal when you read the batch records and the quantity do not balance or tests are missing ... Or dream to have a higher position without experience on the field. Imagine that kind of person responsable for the drug you want to buy at your pharmacy and you'll understand my frustration.
You know, when I began in pharmaceutical field, I had the head full of high standards. I lost the majority of them since. If you have to take some day a drug and you can afford an innovator product, my advice is to take it. Generics are less expensive, but you really don't want to know what happens inside those companies.
