Default Dilema Dilema

This is in the form of a moral dilema that i'm facing. Our local chavs have cats. they are fed and obviously cared for, however, they are neglected in other ways, eg: the young female has been allowed to become pregnant in her first season and the young male will not be neutered. these people love 'flluffy ' kittens, but cats are left to fend for themselves. Now let me make this perfectly clear, I don't think the animals are being mistreated, just ignored and i'm sure not had their shots or being spayed/neuterred at all. From my background (my grandmother was a founder member of the animal anti creulty league in Durban, I've worked with the spca, my aunt volunteers for the cats protection league) however this is mistreatment. So, my dilema is, do i say something, and probably get my house egged etc... or a pregnant qeenn and a spraying tom abandond on my doorstep, or do i just leave it and end up feeding them when they come through my cat flap like the big ginger tom from next door.,

You can first talk to your neighbours, saying that neutering them will help the cat to have a longer and healthier life. And if they says its a budget reason to direct them to a vet school with low fees, or an animal association which will do it for free.
If they take care of them in every other way it may work.

Is there a no-kill shelter anywhere near you? Would the people actually miss the cats if they "disappeared"? If there is such a shelter available, and if the neighbors wouldn't even notice they were missing, I think I'd wait until the kitties come through the cat door and then take them to the shelter. But only if it's a no-kill shelter. If they're anything like the shelters here, they will have the cats fixed and then try to adopt them out to loving families.

I'll say to stay out of it and see what happens next. If by any chance you'll find a kitten at your door, you can take it and give it to the local rspca saying you don't know rhw owners.I have pity for those cats, but you have to think at yourself and the trouble you can get in, if you act before. Especially if you say they are cared for.
