Umberto Eco.
First pic is from the Name of the Rose, third refers to Baudolino and the last of the Island of the day before (translated directly from the French title, not sure it's the actual English word. The second may be related to the Foucault's Pendulum but I'm not sure.

That's ... uncanny.

Quite right, btw - the picture you didn't recognise was of Jean Bernard Leon Foucault, the man who used a pendulum to prove that the earth rotates.
