Snuppy, the first dog cloned
Dolly, the sheep died. But the cloning research on animals keeps going.
Snuppy, the first dog cloned was born in April, after a normal, full-term pregnancy in a Lab, who served as the surrogate.
Quote:
The researchers said they aim to produce cloned dogs to study human and animal diseases, as well as the genetic differences between breeds.
First, they'll need to improve the efficiency of the technique.

Re: Snuppy, the first dog cloned
I forgot about that one.
Well, if I understood well the article, the purpose of cloning animals is to prepare the terrain for cloning eventually humans. You know the bla, bla, bla they need to learn how to cure hereditary diseases.

Re: Snuppy, the first dog cloned
It was rumored not long after the pet cloning in different magazines, that it had already been done with humans, just kept secret. Who knows what little secrets they have tucked away in some lab in the basement floor of area 51* "shush!" don't tell anyone I told you or the men in black will show up some night and whisk you away to are 51 and use you for a test pilot for those conficated UFO's

Re: Snuppy, the first dog cloned
Ye I was quite aware of them dear, they were to amateurish to be credible, National Enquirer material to be sure. But there were other rumors floating around about some claiming to have cloned people around that time as well, back pages of science magazines and news papers. Oh well it appears to have went the same way of the Yo yo, the hula hoop, big foot and 2 cent Yummy Yummy bubble gum and such anyway.

Re: Snuppy, the first dog cloned
i've heard similar things. everytime cloning come up these rumors surface. the question in my mind is why would we want to clone anyone? i believe each person is unique, even in cloning them we'd not be able to re-create that person. just seems a mindless ode to physicality to me.

Re: Snuppy, the first dog cloned
Cloning will save millions, maybe billions, of lives in the future. I don't think anything should stand in the way of enhancing our knowledge of cloning and the technology.
