Re: Life underwater, present and future
I agree those problems should be solved first, but if USA succeed to make a base on the Moon, as they promised, then our oceans should not be a problem. What if by accident the air of the entire planet is contaminated ? Could every country find a refuge on the Moon ? I don't think so. So the survivors could find the ocean as their last chance to survive. Dangers are everywhere: on Earth, under water and in space.

Re: Life underwater, present and future
Gills won't do. We are not like fish. We are warm-blooded, we've got higher metabolism, our bodies and brains need much-much more oxygen than fish even than big fish like sharks. Gills will simply not be able to extract from the water as many oxygen as we would need or, else, we should grow gills all over our bodies...

All right. What if we have no chance to survive on Earth after an atomic war ? Could be the ocean our chance to survive ? Or we should discover other planets, Earth like ?

Re: Life underwater, present and future
I hope not. The chances to colonise another planet meanwhile are thin.

to go out and make your own life, laws and society. i think, in a way that is what the internet does for us, well, for me, it has given me a new frontier to colonise and seed with my own ideas and personality;.
