Default Cats thread

Hello everybody,

This thread is only for cats. I mean all releated to their food, health, care, behaviour, etc.

One of my cats worries me. She looks scared, hides, doesn't each much, avoids company and wants to leave outside. I know I have it only for a week and maybe it needs time to adapt. But I don't understand. She looked more courageous than her sister and I thought she'll be just fine. Instead I have no problems with her sister.

I don't know if I have to go with her right away to the vet or wait and see what happens next.

Any advise will be more than welcome.

I couldn't find it. She's looking like she cannot breath properly and have spasms. I'll go find another pet shop and a vet.

They have no idea about Feliway at the pet shop.

I took Atchoum to the vet. She didn't like much when he took her temperature. Generally she's fine. She has too much temper, so I have to ignor her for a while. She got something for her stomach twice a day. And in about a week, I'll receive something to calm her a bit. I really hope she'll get used to my home and avoid her meds. *sigh*

i bought my feliway online, although vets here sell it. i'm glad that you took her to the vet, for your own peace of mind. now i'm trying to get my fred to a vet, her skin condition has gotten really bad lately. again.

What type of skin condition is it Ivy? Just for general skin and coat health mix garlic and brewer's yeast (they have a pet formula availabe at the pet supply stores) into their food on a daily basis. Worked like a charm for my friend's eight cats...

fred has suffered from stress, allergies and fleas. we've done the whole desensitising thing, used the pheremone hormone air filters, changed her diet, frontline her etc... her glands are also all swollen. when my moms cat moved in she got a new lease on life, and instead of just stabalising (which is what all the other stuff did) she started improving. she now has fur from her nose to just behind her front legs, and her feet and her tail. but with it being so hot, we've had an usurge in the fleas. she's started pulling her fur out again, and seems to have a constant fever. i would just like to point out that apart from her fur, she is in good health with a good appetite. she looks skinny, until you pick her up. she eats like a horse (she is of course de-wormed). its the fever thats worrying me at the moment. and she has a funny lump on one of her flanks. in honesty i'm a bit scared of what the vet will say to me. i've had her since she was born, just ten days before my son. i'm a bit attached to her.

Take her quickly to the vet and see what's that lump.

Mine seems all right. Her new favorite place is on my printer. Wilson, instead, loves to install in front of my screen and play right in front of my eyes. She won't let cannot read or type till I gave her a proper brush.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I hope the vet can give Fred some antibiotic.
