Don't you mean "requests" (read: demands)?

Alexa,

How's your diva?

My managers had an unexpected outing yesterday (another fire alarm [b@st@rds].) Good thing I'm "training" them to semi-willingly go into their carriers with a particular gesture (it's easier than to struggle with them just in case.)

Wow...training your cats. I'm impressed. I always thought they were just too independent to train.

One can train some :kitty:s, but the human must do so on their terms. Felines cannot be trained the same way as dogs because their "way of thinking" isn't the same due to the social structure of the species (or is it the other way around?). One just has to "reinforce" a desired action enough to switch it to "training".

Anyway, just remember this next time you think :kitty:s can't be "trained": the different feline actors and actresses in your favorite movies/TV shows/commercials have all been trained to do whatever it is they do, whether it is to be the "face", the "stunt" or whatever (plus, many of them were rescues from their "staffpurrson"'s local rescue shelter. )

It depends on her humour. She was a pain in the ass yesterday, instead today she is sleepy. *sigh*

I have no troubles to get them inside their carriers. I usually let the carrier opened a few days before the annual visit to the vet. They like to sleep or hide inside. I believe mine feel safe inside.

I agree. It applies especially to indoors cats.

Oh a cat thread! Unusual.

I have 2 cats, Tess and Jessie. Tess is a Tabby and Jessie is a ginger. Both are female and very loving.
