Re: Cats thread
Hmmm. Never knew a pet could get a passport. Learn something new every day.
I had a cat come visit me the other day. The neighbor's cat got out of his apartment and one of his friends was banging around in our bushes looking for it. Well, I opened the front door to see what he was doing out there, and the cat - a really pretty little orange and white baby, past the kitten stage but not yet full grown - just sashayed in the door and proceeded to tour the apartment. I followed it (didn't look to see if its a girl or a boy; thought that would be a bit rude :wink into the bedroom where it had taken refuge under my mother's bed. Had to get down on the floor to coax it out, but it soon came out to see who I am and I caught it easily and returned it to its rightful place. I love cats, as you know, so I enjoyed it's little visit. My mother, not so much. She's not much of an animal lover. At least, not in the house.

Re: Cats thread
The "lady with temper" wants only dry food and not the same every day ! *sigh*. Wilson eats what I give her, but she really likes the meat bits Wiskas. She asks for it in the morning. Thanks for the advices.
LMA be careful! You can get addicted to it.

Re: Cats thread
Had some cat related difficulties this morning. As many of you know, I have two dogs (one rat sized and one big enough to hog most of our king sized bed) and two cats, mostly self sufficient. This morning our large dog discovered one too many cats and proceeded to tree it - up the patio door which is metal. The cat kept going up and falling down and the dog kept barking and growling which forced it to go back up...by the time I got there (this was before my coffee) the cat looked like it was about to have a heart attack. I finally got it out the back door to the patio and locked the dogs in. It took forever to herd it to the door to the outside because it was so freaked out. At first I felt bad but that's what it gets for invading our house (it came in the cat door) and eating our cat's food. I had an adrenaline rush before my coffee.

Re: Cats thread
Poor cat. I'm sure she'll stay away of your house for a while.
Did she break anything ?

Re: Cats thread
She/he/it whatever it was, didn't seem to hurt itself, no damage to the house and the dog (who is all bark anyway) didn't touch her. So, no harm done except to my sanity. Gemini (the dog) thought it was all great fun, big doggie grin and everything. I just moaned and whined and went for coffee...

Re: Cats thread
My father always used to tell me never marry a woman who has four cats. It means that in old age, she will have a hundred cats.
The woman I married had three cats. So I think I just about got away with that.
Prior to living with this woman, I never really thought much of cats, I preferred dogs. However, four years later I am very much in love with all three and consider them as my cat friends.
So a leopard can change it's spots!

Re: Cats thread
I feel I have to hide myself. I did yesterday something for the first time of my life. I grabbed Atchoum of her tail. I don't know how she did, but she "cut" one of my internet cable connections. I had to pay $ 26 to get online again. I was so angry with her. She hide all day and in the evening she was trembling into my hands. I couldn't keep myself angry, so I did my best to get her confidence back. A few minuts ago, while I was typing my messages, she jumped into my arms and tried to sleep. How can I not love her ? She changed so much since I adopted her.

Re: Cats thread
Manuel, you sounds like my mother when I bring a cat home when I was 10. She's now a cat lady too.
Alexa, next time grab Atchoum by her neck skin, as cat mums do to their kitten. It's highly efficient and you don't need to use much strength to get the cat calm and sorry (better not to use much strength). Told you she'll adjust to her new house and human companion soon.
