Distracted drivers-phone cellular banned

Good news for some states in USA. The cellular phones are prohibided by law. I hope having similar laws in Canada. Unfortunately they didn't vote a law against women doing thier make-up while driving, or against those who read or eat.

It's banned here. But not really enforced, the call of the mobile is migther than the fear of the cop. :rolleyes
One more reason to go mass transportation, the sheer joy to know all the love life of your seat companion between two subways stations. :biggrin:

Not in here and I'll do anything to have this law voted. You can see every 3 cars a driver with the cell phone. I saw recently 2 guys ready to be crashed by an autobus and they had no idea how close they were to die. And women doing their make-up in intersections ! Gee. They drive me crazy.

even saw once a teacher marking student's copy in his car during traffic jam !

Crazy people ! Why they don't take the bus or the metro instead ? The'll have pleanty of time to speak on the phone, read or write.

Are they banned out right Alexa? Over here its illegal to use one without a hands-free set, although research is now questioning just how big a benifit that is. The last one I read suggested that mobile phones are so much more distracting than talking to someone in the car with you, partly because as you drive along and the signal gets transfered from tower to tower, the sound/volume is constantly altering meaning you will subconciously need to pay alot more attention.

And I agree with texting Leto, I was going over the bridge in my home town a few months ago, the traffic has got so bad that what was a 2 lane bridge (one each way) with a bit of space is now a very tight 3 lane bridge and a car comming the other way to me was drifting into my lane badly. As it went by i noticed a young woman head down texting*
