Default "Light" cigarettes less harmful

Do you smoke regular or light cigarettes ?

"These data suggest that smokers are confused and misled by cigarette marketing, even when such marketing does not include overt health messages," researchers at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, N.Y., wrote in the August issue of the Journal of Preventive Medicine.
According to the Buffalo team, smokers need to understand that reduced-exposure tobacco products pose the same health risks as any other cigarette, even though cigarette makers claim that these products are less of a health threat.

regular Silk Cut or 100s Raffles black box. And as they're hard to find in France, I don't smoke much.
As a matter of fact, France banned last year "Light" mention on cigarette pack, because of this reason.

I received a pack of Romeo y Julliet, cuban cigarettea, regular. Strange thing, on one of the sides cuban wrote: "TENEMOS EL DERECHO DE RESPIRAR UN AIRE LIMPIO", followed by the sign of interdiction to smoke. I haven't smoke any of them, but my brother in law told me they are stronger than Malboro. I'm not a smoker, but I like to have one for fun.

"WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO BREATHE PURE AIR" ? Sounds as stupid to put that on a pack than the current one on ours "FUMER TUE" (Smoking kills) quickly relabeled as "VIVRE TUE" (Living kills).

I'm lucky I'm not addicted to nicotine, but I've indulged one cancer sticks from time to time (usually a pack is kept for one week or fortnight) since I'm 14 and won't change now (don't force people around me to second-hand smoke). From these, from food, pills or simply bad luck, there's anyway 1 chances out of 4 that I die from cancer. Won't stop appreciated life in order to survive !

Stupid indeed. Like on one hand they want to sell those cigarettes and on the other hand, they want to stop you.

We'll die anyway, one day.

I only smoke when I drink and that is usually when I am out with friends. I was down at a friends house last night till 2:00 a.m., and we drank, therefore, we smoked. Pizzed my wife off that I did it, but, sorry.

You don't get any less by going with light. Here is the reason why! With regular you smoke a few, and you are satified. With light, you smoke them like a 'train passing through town' and get the same amount, if not more.

Precisely.

I tend shift between Wills Navy Cut and Silk Cut, I don;'t believe a Mild or Light cigarette is anything except a flavour distinction.

Silk Cut only. Violet ones (the Blue pack was the former Light ones).
Nowadays, they're cheaper than Malboro and much more tastier.
