Default Patricial Cornwell - Forensics Vs Police

I've read the kay scarpetta books for years, and was delighted to find a new string in the cornwell bow. until i read them. these books are suposedly a lot lighter than the scarpetta series and focus on the charlottevill police force. the humor for me is very forced, and the characterisation not as good.
has anyone else read one of these? opinions and views most welcome

My mom would say it's because although she has a very good character, her writing is just nothing special. She agrees with you.

I have been meaning to read one of her fiction books. I've read "Portrait of a Serial Killer" about her theory of Jack the Ripper by still haven't read any others. Any suggestions?

Yeah, Steve. Read Kathy Reichs.

I've read a few of Cornwell's books, and they haven't been bad, but there's just something that bothers me about them. Can't put my finger on it, but there it is.

However, I recently read Kathy Reichs' latest (as far as I know), Cross Bones, and it's really good.

I was in a bookstore the other day and I think I saw a new Kathy Reichs on the shelves, so Cross Bones might not be the latest one now, although it was published just last year, I think. Just thought I'd add that.

I was rearranging books in the den today and found " Death Du Jour" by Kathy Reichs in my wife's books. Are you familiar with that one and is it any good.

I can't recall reading that one, steve. But I've liked everything of hers that I've read, so I'd say it's probably a good bet that it's good, as well.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

If she's generally good I'll put it on my list. (I'll probably get to the current part of my list in about 12 years.)
