Default So what is healthy eating anyway?

My moms on a health kick. i'm fed up and threatening to go on atkins (hehe0 just to bug her. but it once again brings into question, what is heathy eating anyway?
with different foods being put on the bad list and removed all the time, and this new GI way of eating, what is best. i mean, the way we were taught in school is now considered a death trap, so, hi protien, low protien? carbs or no carbs? are eggs really bad for you (ok, i hate eggs but thats personal). what do you do?

I try to eat vegetables as much as possible, even I'm not vegetarian. I barely eat potatoes and I regret them. No sugar, only aspartame or fructose. Lots of fruits. Yogout 0 %, cheese 0-4 %, bread only in the morning, pasta only whole wheat. In other words, Montignac.

I don't like eggs either, but I try to eat at least once per week.

The only problem is I can stand salad any more. And I like fruit cakes.

I do exceptions, especially when I go to the restaurant or for special occasions.

Suffering a lot for all those plates I cannot taste them.

Be careful with Montignac diet, Alexa, it's not really healthy in the long term and particulary inadapted to women needs.

Except for cheese that I don't like, my conception of healthy eating is simple : eat of everything in any main group food (and no junk food is not a group food) and eat according to the season. In other words, lots of vegetables and fruit, no special restriction on pasta, rice or potatoes but being careful witrh the sauce, not a lot of greasy products but still some (fresh butter or oil mostly), meat, egg or fish once a day and roughly 5 days a week. Maybge I should increase my dairy dose but I really don't like it : I just force fed me milk or yogurt once a week.
