It's an amazing thing to surf on the Internet, but sometimes what you can read and see scares me. One of those things I cannot get used to it is drug selling online. Don't get me wrong. My income depends on how many drugs, the company I work for, sells on the market. But for me, a safe way is to go to the pharmacy or get a prescription.

Did you buy drugs online ? If the answer is yes, please tell me why.

what I think strange is that I was used to spam for Viagra or Cialis as everyone knows sex sales but now I have spam for Tylenol !
What's going on ?

On a related question, do you have also generic drugs in Canada or UK ?

I work for a generic company. Generics are everywhere, all over the world. The innovators are just a few of them and not in every country, as they have to spend a lot of time and money till they find a new formula.

We have at least 20 different acetaminophens, i.e the box and label is different in funtion of the client (life brand, london drugs, medical centre, western family, etc.). It's all marketing stuff. They pretend to have a new product on the market to sell the same product. They are driving me crazy with them. All are rush to be released.

Here, governement decided about a year ago, reimbusements would be done taking the cheaper generic available as a basis. Yet doctor still use marketing label, so I keep on asking to pharmacists : give me this or whatever generic is available for it.
The day triptans will be available in generics I'd be the most happy woman on earth.

To go back on topic, nope, never bought online.

We have the same problem in Québec. That's why many innovators are like in paradise in here. The law gives them a protection of 20 years of the formula everywhere in the world. In Québec a stupid law added 15 years for a generic product to be launched on the market. We have an important elder generation and they take a lot drugs with prescription and all those without prescription, especially vitamins at their discretion. Vitamins are less controlled by laws in manufacturing, so it's not such a good idea to take them "n'importe comment".

I don't like the advertise in leaflets either. I consider it as dangerous as the products online. A drug, even it's over the counter is still a chemical product and should be taken in reasonable conditions.

Be careful when you buy an over the counter at the expiry date. The pharmacist should retire and return drugs 6 months before the expiry date. Well, most of them keep selling !!!

Except for generic equivalent of Tylenol and bandaids I buy almost nothing over the counter, I'm not a drug fan.

Unfortunatly got enough prescription drugs to take not increase the boat with non-prescription ones
