No choice. I've got regular severe migraine crisis and have to take daily propranolol (usually used to reduce blood pressure) to keep them in check, plus several triptans when crisis happen. And as I'm allergic to the whole penicillium family (not only penicilline) and ibuprofen as no more effect on me, there's a whole range of drugs I can't take without supervision.

I work only with Fournier in France, so I don't know the other pharmaceutical companies there. For each drug you have several suppliers or manufacturers. The question was more about them, than the drug itself. KInda, do I take an innnovator or a generic ?

If generic is available, no choice, only generic is paid back by state. So, you take the generic. Innovators in my case are only for triptans, and when my dear spouse forgets that the generic name of Doliprane and Efferalgan is paracetamol.

Generally, most French got the generic habit quite quick compared to their usual inability to change.

Because they are less expensive. Generics are as good as innovators, but when you are in the industry, you became picky about the manufactures.
