But usually, I tend to think as Alexa it's more a urban legend situation. So difficult to get a abortion appointement (or RU186 prescription) within legal timeframe, it's not a realistic concraception method. With patch, implants and pills, you can do what you want without pregnancy risk.

Brian after 22 weeks, abortion is almost all over the world restricted to medical reasons, because it's potentially dangerous for the woman.
Before, to each woman her own conscience, no governement can decide in their place.

i'm affraid that i have met people who do act like this. its not that contraception isn't available, just that they don't take it. one of these women is a drug adict. she forgets the pill. she''s had two kids (to far gone to have them aborted) and four abortions. shes thirty. sometimes they are trying to land a boyfriend (as ridiculus as it sounds). i wish it was an urban myth. but there are still these people around

well, its not a perfect system, but its the best one we've got. yes there are always going to be people who do incredibly stupid things, or make the worst choices. but i'd rather have it as it is than have no freedom and have to live according to someone else's view of the world!

I believe abortion is up to the individual it would have been easy for me to have an abortion when I discovered I was pregnant,it was something I seriousley considered because I had just split up with my boyfriend,I knew I would never go back to him because although it wasn't something I had expierenced ,I had witnessed it he had a very bad habit of settling disputes with his fists.I know people who do use abortion as a form of contraception,one woman I know has had five because she doesn't want a child ruining her lifestyle,this isn't due to lack of education, drugs or money it's just sheer laziness.

I'm sorry to disrupt a serious discussion but someone mentioned earlier that 'nobody could be that stupid' so I had to tell this true story, witness by my mother as an illustration that yes, people can be stupid:

Mom was a social worker at the time (70's) working with a woman who wanted to use contraception so that she could stay at two children. Mom went through the entire discussion, explaining the pros and cons of all the different methods and finally settled on the diaphram as the one that would be best for her. Mom says she was careful to stress to the woman that she must wear it every night without fail.

The problem is that this woman's husband worked the graveyard shift. She became pregnant again a month later.
