I see nobody mentioned cigars. I quit cigarettes for eight years, restarted for a year, quit again then eventually started smoking cigars. I smoke two a day during the week and one or less on a weekend day. If I get a cold I stop for a while. I try to be considerate but I have a hard time with non-smoking snobs. I had a women sit down next to me at a casino and start a fake cough because of my cigar. I was there first and she could certainly see and smell my cigar before she sat down. It was all I could do to keep from saying, "this isn't church, lady it's a f%$#ing casino." Thank You, I'm done venting.

sounds great. i have a cigarello sometimes at speciall occasions, or to annoy people :biggrin:

Some people need to be annoyed. I was once in a casino sitting at a slot machine, smoking a cigar and an elderly lady sat down next to me and proceed to fake cough and make faces. There were other places she could have sat and she knew I was smoking before she sat down. It was all I could do to keep from saying " This ain't church, Lady it's a F*&%$ng casino." But I didn't. I kept my toungue.

Yesterday was officially the last day for smokers in public places in Canada. It seems they are not happy at all.

Understandable.
Either, governement decides cigarette is a drug and ban totally the selling of it, either it lets people smoke where they wants (with non-smoking area in public place for non-smoker). These kinds of law are so hypocrite.

Remember alcohol was banned in the United States for several years and that gave rise to organized crime that we still feel the effects of.

Err, can't remember something I've never known or been affected by (except through stories).

But I can remember and see cigarette contraband every day.

Look up Prohibition and Al Capone. The national Prohibition of alcohol in the United States in the 1920s created a subculture based on obtaining the illegal substance. It didn't take very long before it was controlled by organized crime. A tobacco prohibition would do the same thing. People will smoke. It's just whether they are dealing with tobacco companies or the tobacco equivalent of drug cartels.

Err, I'm a smoker, but just for pleasure.
Camel 100's, about seven or eight for a day, but I depends of my mood.
In france, smoking will be forbidden at university in juanuary the first, and I completly disagree. Where will us smoke, only at home ?
