Dire Straits - 'Latest Trick'..... 'Local Hero' - by Dire Straits is played at the Newcastle matches and is something of a national anthem for the Geordie nation.

'Greensleeves' is very emotionally charged, it is fantastic.

Rufus Wainwright's version was my favourite but have you heard Sheryl Crowes version?

I think my musical and lyrical tastes are different than anyone else here but my favorite song of all time is a tie between South of Heaven and Disciple by Slayer. A bit hard yeah, but anything else to me just seems cheesy.

Rammstein Amerika lyrics are fun Some metal lyrics are among the best. But in english, Leonard Cohen is my favorite.

I am still sold on Slayer. So many ppl think of them as satanics, but really they are merely pessimists. Disciple, oh yes, the lyrics, the beat, the sound, is definitely the best song I have ever listened to.

"Sweet Child of Mine" by Guns N' Roses ...... although I was pretty pissed when Sheryl Crow butchered the hell outta it.

That seems to be a trend...redoing "old" songs badly. Simple Man and Imagine come to mind...

I don't know, I thought the APC version had a certain bone-chilling charm.

If you are talking about the new Imagine song...I suppose if you had never heard the original it would be ok, but it just sounds so depressing the way they sing it. To me anyway.
