Default Phantom of the opera

Oh I adored it, I know it has had a bit of bad feedback but I just adored it from start to finish, can't wait for the dvd.
Though I have never seen it on stage I am sure that is even better

I loved it, too. I've seen it a while ago on stage and was already highly impressed! And now, the film, it's like a cream topping! It's almost better I think. It still has a lot of mystery, although more things are explained than in the musical.

i had a book once that went into great detail from the day of the phantom's birth ... was an excellent book. I will try to find the author though I think the title was Phantom.

Really? It's that good? Surprising, considering the director, Joel Schumacher, is the same man responsible for bringing us Batman and Robin...and we all remember how good that was.

@ Hodor: There's book about the Phantom? It would be great if you could find the author and confirm the title! I'd sure like to read it.

I think I've said it elsewhere (though my forum-frequenting has diffused and I'm less collected than usual about it) but the original novel was written by Gaston Leroux in the twenties, and adapted for screen and stage.
