Post Re: What does your library look like???

Used to have a library as well as book shelves along most walls and a cupboard on the landing as well as shelves in the rooms. There's about a 1,000 or so books that have been collected over about 30 years.

Am a pack rat as far as books are concerned and probably buy far too many. Have also over the years given a home to books from the homes of assorted relatives.

They are now, all of them, apart from maybe a hundred or so, sitting in warehouse packed into boxes since I got divorced and moved out. Am in the process of getting a place of my own and am living at home again now.

I miss the books and think of them there in the warehouse in boxes all by themselves and keep wanting to move into the warehouse too. Hopefully, they'll be back on shelves again soon.

I went through mine about 13 years ago and it was rough until I could resettle my library.

I need more shelves as soon as possible. I don't have any empty space. This is my second library. I sold most of my books when I moved out the first time. I sincerely regret them. I managed to buy back some of them, but it's not the same.

I have a dream of a bookshop for my own. Maybe I can realize it in a few years.

I hope you'll find soon a very nice place to stay, nesa.

Am looking for a place that will fit all the books and a few cats. Miss having cats too.

Yes, it does feel very unsettling without my books. Have given away batches of books over the years and like you Alexa, I regret some of it and have ended up buying them back but it's not the same. Now I just work on finding more shelf space.

I have a dream of opening a bookshop too; but I often wonder if I'll ever be able to let any of the books go. In the meantime, I help out weekends at a bookshop owned by a friend.

The fun part with a bookshop is we can have as many samples as we want to. I'll keep the first one for me and I sell the others.

As much as I love books and enjoy a bookstore or a library, books in groups of more than 2 or 3 can get heavy, especially the big pretty ones.
